I’M OFTEN ASKED HOW THE NAME, JOLLY ROAD PRODUCTIONS, CAME TO BE.

It was in 2008

On the verge of launching the business, I came up with a list of ideas that were personal to me. I asked everyone I knew to help me choose and just for fun, threw in a few goofy and random names. 

At the time, I was producing a series of photography instructional videos for my brother, Jesse, and his company KALISHER. We filmed two days in Las Vegas followed by two in the Grand Canyon. It was on the drive from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon, on interstate 40, that we passed a sign for Jolly Road. Jolly Road Productions. I threw it on the list. 

“Jolly Road Productions?”

Jolly Road Productions received 1 vote from my graphic designer / artist sister. Truth be known, I was relieved. I called her up after the final tally was in and explained with a chuckle, how could I possibly answer the phone, “Jolly Road Productions?” She told me disappointedly, that Jolly Road Productions evoked a clear vision of my company logo. 

It wasn’t simply because Amy was the graphic designer who would be creating my logo that I changed my mind. Jolly Road evoked imagery. The name itself was a visual experience! 

So yup. Call me anytime. I will proudly answer, Jolly Road Productions, how can I help you?
